What we do
Lynn Growth Partners is a boutique private equity firm founded specifically to help small business owners achieve their entrepreneurial dreams. Our focus is working with businesses that are facing challenges in business expansion, cash flows, controls, processes or strategy etc. Empowered by their passion and entrepreneurial drive, these business owners work tirelessly to build sustainable operations that provide vital goods and services and create jobs for their local communities. However, these businesses sometimes need help to scale, to improve profitability or even to survive. Lynn was created to help business owners overcome such challenges.
Why we are different
Many investment professionals build a career around investing without ever having owned or operated one themselves. The resulting disconnect between the business owners and the investors can often limit the values that the business can achieve post investment. We are different, having been owners ourselves of businesses in various industries. This allows us to understand our portfolio companies’ motivations and struggles on a much more personal level. We then work hand in hand with portfolio companies to craft tailored transformations that deliver long lasting values.
Who we are
Stephen has over 27 years of experience in the advisory and accounting professions and a further 4 years in commercial roles. Originally from the UK, his professional life has taken him to Thailand, Vietnam and Canada. Stephen joined PwC Vietnam in 2005 and set up its M&A advisory practice in that country, growing it to become the largest among the Big 4 firms there. Stephen also led the PwC Consulting practice for 5 years, during which time it quadrupled in size. During his 20 years in Vietnam, Stephen was heavily involved some of the country’s largest ever M&A deals. Whilst in Vietnam he was also involved in various businesses including a restaurant, a trading business and an accounting and advisory firm.
Stephen currently serves as a Director of Viva Consulting Ltd., a Vancouver-based M&A and Consulting firm, as a Senior Advisor to Catalyst Advisory Vietnam, a boutique M&A advisory firm, and is a co-founder and director of Lynn Growth Partners.
Stephen is leading Lynn Growth Partners’ operations in Canada.
Nguyen is originally from Vietnam but has spent most of his life in Singapore, Montreal and Vancouver. Over the last ten years, Nguyen built a career in accounting, strategy and operations management working in the public sector and in startups. In 2014, Nguyen joined Bench Accounting, a successful fintech start-up based in Vancouver, where he was directly involved in the delivery of accounting services, internal business management, systems improvement and strategy development. However, Nguyen’s true passion has always been entrepreneurship. Before co-founding Lynn, Nguyen founded two other companies that develop recreational and commercial drone products. Nguyen actively managed one of them, having successfully grown its annual revenue to over $400,000 in less than five years.
